I think it would be a good idea to add back the ability for user creation on the wiki. Paging [abcboy on the forums is discouraging to new users due to the time consuming nature of it. I think that we should set "$wgGroupPermissions['*']['createaccount'] = true;" :). Interested in hearing the rationale behind the initial decision by MintYogi. [https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:ConfirmAccount This mediawiki extension] may be useful if the need to moderate account creation is still needed. I think that we should encouraging editing more since there are many stubs.
