Underground, titanium ore can be so scarce to find that down at the depths of 200 blocks above magma, only two clumps of titanium can be found in an area horizontally stretching at a distance equivalent to double the distance from the surface to the bottom. Although mining titanium will yield a considerable number of ores (particularly when a gem [[pickaxe]] is used), the drop rate of titanium ores while mining can be equivalent to processing the removed stone into ores. It remains a matter of opinion as to which is the more productive method.
Using the electric sluice is generally more effective for getting titanium ore than mining it from a cave.
